A Study of Weld Seams on Low Carbon Steel ABS Grade a Marine Plates Using SMAW Process

چکیده
Understanding the impact of welding parameters and welder skill on weld quality is crucial. However, it lack comprehensive studies that consider welder-introduced defects when analyzing mechanical metallurgical behaviors low carbon steel welds using SMAW process. The research aims to study assess seams ABS Grade A marine plate 12.7mm thick manual process as per AWS D1.1 structural code requirements fulfilments ASME Section IX pressurized equipment too. Different voltages, currents, travel speeds were used test specimen plates. After process, a series testing techniques, including non-destructive tests, such VT RT, destructive tensile bend microhardness metallographic examination has been conducted assess/evaluate welded seam profiles analyses/determines whether accepted have fulfilled relevant requirements. From assessments analyses, confirmed 1 having (i.e., voltage 23 V, current 70 A, 56.52 – 312.50 mm/min, range heat inputs from 0.31kJ/mm 1.71kJ/mm) good seam.
